SUMMARY
The Museum Education Specialist - Lead supports the National Museum of the United States Army (NMUSA) by providing programmatic support to the Experiential Learning Center (ELC). Works in the interactive museum and learning center designed to educate visitors, and particularly young people, about the history and culture of the United States Army and its many contributions to our country. The Experiential Learning Center (ELC) offers a unique and immersive learning space for all visitors to develop skills and have fun with Geography, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (GSTEM) through education and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) learning programs, and in-person and virtual educational programming.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to obtain a customer clearance for access to facilities, equipment and property.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leads a team that presents formal and informal education programs based on lesson plans provided by NMUSA.
Acts as the Point of Contact for NMUSA COR and Chickasaw Management Services, LLC.
Approves bi-weekly timesheets and conducts yearly evaluations for full time staff.
Supports NMUSA's in-gallery education programs including Museum Cart Programs, Guided Tours,and VTC learning programs. Including Artifact Showcases, Virtual Field Trips, Operation Safe Passage Programs, hands-on youth activities and other educational programming as needed.
Supervises a team of employees in the following spaces in the ELC: Rally Point, Training Center, Operations Center and Fort Discover, Assembly Area, Training Center, Fort Discover, and Learning Lab.
Drafts monthly schedule for contracting team facilitating a seven (7)-day working rotation with three hundred and sixty-four (364)-day operations.
Responsible for the ELC being open to the public each day by 9 AM by using the ELC Opening Checklist. In addition, ensures that the ELC is closed each day by using the ELC Closing Checklist and confirms that the facility, equipment and all materials are secured.
Ensures employees maintain the ELC WeeklyVisitation Log.
Monthly maintenance of Teaching Collection Inventory.
Ensures daily operations and visitor flow in the ELC.
Ensures all interactive kiosks and A/V elements are functioning properly. Reports any equipment malfunction to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
Completes the DoD Cyber Awareness Challenge Training (formerly Information Assurance Awareness Training) before issuance of network access.
Completes all required training for Anti-Terrorism (AT), Threat Awareness Reporting, Security Policies and Directives, and all other training provided by the NMUSA. Wears ID badge at all times. In addition, obtains and carries a Common Access Card (CAC) at all times.
Oversees the Professional Development Monthly training and assigning resources to aid in development.
Facilitates flow of information from Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and CNI to contracting team.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in a classroom, museum, or historic site, teaching individuals between the ages of five (5) to eighteen (18) years old.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
