Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
Schedule- 6:00am -5:00pm, Mon-Fri
Monitor, clean, and inspect plant production equipment to ensure proper operation.
Perform regular walkthroughs and visual inspection (look for clogs, jams, etc.) to the process during operation.
Perform regular visual inspections of all product streams, i.e., waste and metals to minimize losses and maximize product quality.
Communicate with QA to ensure products are meeting the required quality standards. Adjust equipment as needed to meet requirements.
Report any issues with equipment and/or process to supervisor as soon as they are found.
Operate mobile equipment including forklift and skid loader.
Assist other Teammates as needed.
Keep area and walkways clean and organized, free of debris and obstacles. All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in an industrial/outdoor work environment.
Minimum (1 year) working around manufacturing equipment environment.
Demonstrated ability to work safely at all times and with a safe sense of urgency.
Ability to operate equipment under varying work conditions.
Ability to work with others in a team environment.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Ability to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends as needed.
