Basic Job Functions:



The role of Product Manager includes, but is not limited to, working directly with our commercial team to help strengthen customer relationships, develop new product opportunities and further increase Nucor Yamato's participation in structural fabrication markets. The role includes understanding and articulating Nucor's strategy, executing a comprehensive business plan and creating effective market studies and strategies. The Product Manager will be expected to travel extensively and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with little to no supervision.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Requirements:



Manager and General Manager recommendation

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent metals industry experience

5+ years of sales, marketing, or technical experience in the metals industry




Detailed Selection Criteria:



Customer Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. This also includes effectively anticipating and meeting customer needs and the ability to adjust approach based on the situation.

Communication: The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicating information so that others will understand, both written, presenting, and verbal.

Independence: Ability to work efficiently with minimal oversight.

Initiative: Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.

Dependability: Being reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations.

Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods

Business Acumen: General business knowledge and an understanding of how Nucor makes money.

Teamwork: working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.




Preferences:



Prior Supervisory experience and/or sales and marketing experience

Beam product knowledge and experience

Knowledge of structural fabrication

Advanced problem-solving skills

Willingness for future mobility
