This role is responsible for driving the Snap-on Equipment Solutions (EQS) group's continuous process improvement and quality efforts critical to driving growth, improving root/cause/corrective action processes and operational excellence initiatives as well as improving quality and reducing cost of quality. A key responsibility will be to drive global, strategic, results driven by the implementation of continuous improvement tools and methodologies to support the development of a world-class operation and standardizing quality processes and strategies across the organization.
Monitoring (qualitatively and quantitatively) and reporting on performance of implemented continuous improvement and quality programs. This role leads functional development of the business group's annual strategy deployment, identifies associated action plans, and facilitates the execution of improvement projects by effectively applying LEAN and quality improvement tools and LEAN principles, skills, and expertise. The RCI Manager will partner with other business groups and or departments to verify that Equipment Solutions RCI operations maintain consistent application of RCI processes and support Snap-on Corporate's valued practices and guidelines towards continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Establish strategic continuous improvement implementation plans within business functions.
Manage and monitor reporting on performance of implemented continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and continuously improve implementation capability.
Lead individuals responsible for preparing and implementing CI programs.
Share Lean thinking and fundamentals of strategy within the business group.
Lead department managers in their pursuit of rapid continuous improvement initiatives designed at improving quality.
Ensure consistency of implemented processes across the business group.
Provide guidance and standardization on the Quality System infrastructure and strategies.
Manage the collection and communication of metrics / key business and performance indicators.
Facilitate implementation of RCI initiatives which reduce cost and or time or improve service and or quality.
Manage and monitor preventive / corrective actions to improve quality and reduce cost of quality. Maintain RCI reports (action items status, payback, cost savings, other metrics as needed).
Manage safety procedures for various department locations and consolidate metrics for management review.
Assist in the business group reporting including assembly of presentations for senior management review.
Perform analysis of problem areas and proposes solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance or business administration.
5-7 years' experience in multiple operational and administrative areas of business.
Fundamental understanding of LEAN principles and a proven track record of implementation.
Fundamental understanding of Root Cause Analysis, process mapping and problem solving.
Understanding of quality process flow, quality tools, PFMEA, testing strategies.
Experience with ISO and quality documentation background.
Superior analytical skills.
Proven project management skills.
Disciplined, organized, demonstrates follow-through on assignments and issue resolution.
Able to successfully manage to milestones and deadlines for multiple, concurrent projects.
Ability to acquire, assimilate and analyze data from multiple systems and sources.
Strong written and verbal communications/presenter skills.
Familiarity with SAP, Oracle and or other ERP solutions/systems.
Strong computer skills with MS Office applications (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, SharePoint).
Willingness to acquire additional education and training as required by business.
