*This is a hybrid role with three weeks per month onsite (Mon – Thurs). The remaining days are remote.

  • Paid Internship: $20/hr

  • Twelve-week program: May 19 – August 8, 2025

    Our internship program is designed with future leaders in mind and serves as a pipeline for top talent. Participants in our program receive one-on-one mentorship while working alongside seasoned Web Engineering professionals. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with various consumer and business facing applications. You will contribute to meaningful projects and expand your professional network in a growing retail organization that continues to invest in our technology.     Responsibilities


    You will work closely with Application Development teams to support the design, development, and deployment of application solutions that integrate into various consumer and business facing applications. Specific responsibilities include:



    • Application development: Assist in designing and developing new front-end UI/UX features and back-end server-side functions between different application stacks to support incoming business requirements. (such as Java, Spring Boot, Angular, SAP commerce cloud, AWS EC2, AWS S3, etc.)

    • Automation of tasks and workflows: Support the team in automating repetitive operational tasks including CI/CD using Gitlab pipelines and Argo CD as integration and deployment methods.

    • Monitoring and maintenance: Assist in creating monitoring, logging, and alerting for the application stack using observability tools like Dynatrace & Grafana.

    • Troubleshooting & debugging: Collaborate with teams debugging and resolving production and test environment issues reported by customers on tools like ServiceNow.

    • Documentation & process improvement: Participate in improving system documentation, writing technical guides, and providing recommendations to improve existing workflows to drive better performance and reliability.

    • Cross-functional and team collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, such as product management, DevOps, and other development teams, to gather requirements and deliver solutions.


    Qualifications



    • Academic requirements: Enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, preferably junior or senior undergraduate status.

    • Full-Stack development: Strong understanding of UI/UX components and creation as well as server-side functions and RESTful API creation.

    • Familiarity and demonstrated knowledge of development frameworks: Basic understanding and interest in development frameworks like Angular, Typescript, JavaScript, and Spring Boot Java.

    • Familiarity with cloud technologies: Basic understanding and interest of cloud platforms, preferably AWS. Knowledge of any AWS services like, S3, API Gateway, EC2, Redis, and Route53 is a plus.

    • Technical acumen in digital automation is a plus.

    • Basic understanding and keen interest in automation tools. Basic knowledge of Gitlab, Gitlab Pipelines and Deployments, Jenkins, and Argo CD.

    • Programming skills: Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Angular, JavaScript (Node.js), and Java. Experience with writing backend RESTful APIs and Spring Boot is a plus.

    • Demonstrated problem-solving ability/resourcefulness: Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems and propose effective solutions.

    • Collaboration and communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and contribute to team goals. The ability to demonstrate this is critical to the role.

    • Eagerness to learn: A proactive attitude and enthusiasm for learning new technologies, tools, and best practices in cloud computing.

    • Bonus skills: Knowledge of DevOps concepts (CI/CD pipelines, monitoring), Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK), and any prior exposure to serverless frameworks would be an advantage.

    • Location: Hybrid work is preferred but remote work is acceptable and may be a consideration


    Development Opportunities



    • Hands-on experience: Gain real-world experience in developing web applications used in production by millions of consumers. Gain experience using development frameworks, writing secure code, and deployment processes to ensure successful implementations.

    • Access management and enhanced monitoring and reporting are essential technologies that are growing in complexity and demand.


    Additional Projects



    • Gather inputs from business stakeholders across various business units regarding their key metrics and KPIs essential for strategic decision-making.

    • Aid in grasping the necessary level of detail required for these primary KPIs/metrics.

    • Identify existing challenges concerning data access, preparation, BI/Visualization, and analytics/insights.
