Job Description Summary

The Bus Attendant sets the tone for Sonesta's mission of "Wowing" our guests with Amazing Moments. The Bus Attendant is responsible for ensuring a clean and organized dining area and providing excellent customer service by assisting servers, clearing tables, resetting dining spaces, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The Bus Attendant supports the service team to ensure timely table turnover and guest satisfaction.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



  • Table Maintenance: Clear tables of dishes, utensils, and other dining items after guests have finished their meals.


  • Table Setup: Reset tables for the next guests, ensuring proper placement of tableware, glassware, and napkins.


  • Cleanliness: Keep the dining area, floor, and restrooms clean, removing trash and debris, and wiping down tables and chairs.


  • Assisting Servers: Assist servers by bringing food items to the table, refilling water and drinks, and providing any additional guest needs.


  • Supporting Operations: Work with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and efficient table turnover.


  • Refilling Stations: Maintain service stations with plates, cutlery, glassware, napkins, and condiments as needed.


  • Communication: Coordinate with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.


  • Safety & Hygiene: Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitizing of tables and chairs.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience as a busser or in a similar role is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

  • Strong attention to detail and a positive, helpful attitude.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and dishes (up to 50 lbs).

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to move swiftly and efficiently throughout the restaurant.

Pay Range

$17.50/hr. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific experience/overall experience.
