Job Description:

UC Health is hiring a Full Time Supply Chain Resiliency Analyst for the Supply Chain Management department.

The Supply Chain Resiliency Analyst is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability of critical supplies within the hospital environment by effectively managing product backorders and substitutions. This role focuses on monitoring supply disruptions, analyzing inventory status, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including strategic sourcing managers and clinical SMEs, to identify and implement alternative supply options.

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a clinically related field.


  • Preferred: Clinical degree or background (e.g., Nursing, or other relevant clinical discipline) is highly desirable. LEAN or Six Sigma Certification preferred.


  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting.

  • Provide leadership in monitoring and forecasting product backorders to identify trends and potential impacts on clinical operations.



  • Develop and implement robust strategies to minimize disruptions, ensuring that critical supplies are consistently available for patient care.



  • Collaborate with supply chain team members and clinical staff to establish protocols for managing backorders and product substitutions effectively.


Disruption Monitoring and Management:


  • Diligently monitor backorder reports to promptly identify critical supply needs, enabling timely interventions to prevent operational disruptions.



  • Track industry trends and distributor/manufacturer activities, leveraging this information to anticipate potential supply chain disruptions and prepare contingency plans.

Product Substitution Management:


  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive list within ERP of approved product substitutions, ensuring clinical staff are informed of safe and effective alternatives.



  • Identify and manage substitutions for the critical supply list within ERP, which includes essential items necessary for patient care, to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.



  • Serve as a liaison between supply chain management and clinical end users, facilitating clear and timely communication regarding product availability.

Strategy development:


  • Conduct regular assessments of inventory status to determine levels and forecast future needs, particularly during periods of supply chain disruption.



  • Orchestrate procurement activities in collaboration with sourcing teams to maintain optimal supply levels and prevent operational interruptions.



  • Utilize inventory turnover ratios and fill rates as KPIs to evaluate inventory management effectiveness.



  • Leverage expertise in Strategic Sourcing and Value Analysis to identify and secure alternative supply options, effectively minimizing the operational impact of supply shortages.



  • Utilize data analytics to monitor supply chain performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.



  • Prepare and present regular reports on backorder trends, substitution effectiveness, and inventory status to key stakeholders, ensuring informed decision-making. score: N/A
