The Advanced Maintenance Technician is a member of the Maintenance and Reliability team and typically working under the direction of the Production Equipment Supervisor is responsible for performing PM's, facility work orders, and equipment repairs in a safe manner, ensuring correct processes and procedures are followed, and documentation is made. The Advanced Maintenance Technician works as member of the larger plant maintenance team and may be assigned to any open work order or project as volume dictates. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Demonstrated oral communication skills including the ability to communicate professionally with BAC customer and co-workers. The ability to share information verbally that is clearly understood and technically accurate.
Competent in math including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractional computations, and fraction to decimal conversions.
Skills related to facility repair including painting, drywall, and plumbing
How to troubleshoot basic electrical issues including following schematics/wiring diagrams and use digital multi-meter (DMM)
Knowledge of principles of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and power transmission components
Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change.
Understanding of elementary and intermediate LEAN principles including 5S and basic continuous improvement techniques
Competence in welding, milling and lathe techniques.
Safely use nail guns, panel saw, miter saw, and other small power tools as required.
Able to read a tape measure and perform basic fractional calculations.
Know how to correctly fill out In Process Inspections and any other paperwork as required.
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks, lift trucks, jib cranes, and gantry crane.
Ability to safely operate a man lift.
Knowledge of all safety requirements associated with tasks.
Computer skills include competence in locating relevant instructions and forms on the LAN or other databases.
NATURE & SCOPE
Advanced Maintenance Technician reports to the Production Equipment Supervisor or a more senior Technician as assigned by the Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Owns personal and team safety. Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
Complete PM's, work orders, and repairs for facility and equipment in a safe and quality conscious manner eliminating risk of damage or down time.
Meet daily work order production or project milestones as assigned.
Replenish supplies including parts, tools, or any other consumables.
Work independently, address mechanical & electrical troubleshooting needs and complete open work orders.
Performs PMs on all major plant equipment.
Performs breakdown repairs and complete line maintenance changeovers.
Follow all safety requirements regarding tools and PPE.
Perform Bench-work activities (rebuilds, parts cleaning, operational checks, upgrades)
Perform basic maintenance on pumps, compressors, piping systems, etc.
Work from technical manuals, specifications, shop drawings, and schematics
Interface effectively with production and maintenance personnel. Confer with Shift Manager on duty.
Monitor and perform seasonal maintenance activities and facility equipment during non-standard work hours.
Support sustainability efforts and implement and support efforts to reduce BAC's energy / waste footprint.
Actively acquire skills and ability to support the highest quality standards.
Trains junior mechanics in general mechanical maintenance
Flex to other areas as needed demonstrating teamwork and a commitment to team success.
Competent in documentation of processes, procedures, and after-action reports
Perform all other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Employee will also be required to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, sit and reach on a regular basis during a normal working shift This position requires frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Work can be done at ground level, in confined space, or at elevations. Exposures include elevated noise levels associated with a manufacturing environment, fluctuations in temperature ambient conditions as well as intermittent exposure to the weather in and about the yard and dock areas. Working hours can include any of three shifts and generally are scheduled for forty hours a week. Some weekend overtime is to be expected.
