Title: Temporary- Security Officer (Pool)
Institution: Volunteer State Community College
Job Summary:
Successful candidate must be able to operate security related equipment and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
Job Duties:
Patrol campus, report suspected crimes, accidents, or activities of a questionable/suspicious nature. Responsible for keeping records and preparing reports. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, climb, and lift. Meet written departmental directives. Required to work nights/weekends/holidays or a shift or location that best meets the needs of the department. Must be able to work in inclement weather or weather extremes. May be confined to motor vehicle for an entire shift. May be exposed to hazardous materials, infectious disease, bloodborne pathogens, steam, car battery acid, loud noises smoke and fire. May be required to be knowledgeable and able to correctly use personal protective equipment. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications:
Unarmed security guard licensure through the Tennessee Department of Insurance and Commerce.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
