The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) within the Spears School of Business (SSB) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month, faculty position at the rank of Associate/Full Professor. The primary responsibilities for this position include research, teaching, and engaging in service activities for the academic discipline, HTM and SSB. This position is located on the Stillwater campus. The salary is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience and includes a competitive benefits package, contingent on available funds. This 9-month position has a preferred start date of Fall 2025.
Required Qualifications: PhD in hospitality, tourism or a closely related field from a recognized institution.Established national and/or international reputation based on scholarly activities (e.g., prestigious publications, editorships) with evidence of sustained scholarly contributions to literature, especially in theory construction/contribution. Track record of generating extramural funding.Proven ability to deliver quality teaching & advising at undergraduate and graduate levels.Significant commitment to service and/or outreach activities.Experience in mentoring new/younger faculty and graduate students.Dissemination of scholarship results through engagement with industry, government and professionals via appropriate media including trade publications, newsletters, electronic media, fact sheets and relevant speaking engagements.Experience in shaping policy through important committee service, engagement with external partners, service to the School, College, and University, and holding leadership roles in national associations or other appropriate significant areas. Effective collaboration skills with co-workers, administrative personnel, and industry stakeholders. Academic qualification upon the start date and maintenance of AACSB qualifications. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducting high-quality research and publishing in top-tier journals. Securing extramural funding for research projects. Collaborating HTM and SSB faculty on research initiatives. Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Advising and mentoring students in their academic and research pursuits. Coordinating relationships with key industry stakeholders and serving on industry organizations. Leading the School's effort in advancing scholarship through research, peer-reviewed publications, grantsmanship, outreach, and other scholarly activities. Engaging with student organizations, serving on committees, participating in faculty and curriculum development, and assuming other responsibilities typically associated with a tenured/tenure-track faculty position at a land-grant university.
