Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Duties: The Executive Director of Summer Programs will serve in a leadership role in the development and coordination of various educational initiatives for high school students at Wharton including summer Young Global Leaders Academy, competitions, online courses, teacher development programs and online educational portal. Take leading role as Wharton expands its reach in these activities and actively promote them globally and domestically. The Executive Director will work closely with other departments at Wharton including Development, Executive Education, Customer Analytics Initiative, Entrepreneurship, IT etc. to coordinate creation of curricula for high school students and teachers, ensure availability of teaching resources, facilities and oversee logistics. Coordinate work with sponsors and donors as well as ensure timely revenue collection, lead budgeting and planning process. Proactively identify and develop new opportunities to grow high-school related programs. Management of support staff in an effort to carry out responsibilities of the role.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and at least 7 - 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
Previous experience developing and implementing strategy from the ground up. Proven ability to balance the strategic needs of the program with tactical day-to-day activities.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others. Previous management skills a plus.
