Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Data Strategy to develop a commercially focused enterprise data strategy for Insulet's connected pump solutions. This role will be pivotal in advancing the company's data-driven initiatives, driving solutions that align with the needs of HCPs, Consumers, and Payors.

As a new capability within the organization, this role will evolve over time, offering the opportunity to shape our data strategy from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leveraging internal and external data to create high-impact business solutions. This individual will play a critical role in developing innovative data solutions, enhancing customer value, and contributing to Insulet's growth strategy.

Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy based on internal and external data sources to deliver data-driven insights and solutions.

  • Build business cases to acquire or develop new datasets and analytical tools to support organizational objectives.

  • Lead cross-functional teams, including data scientists and engineers, to design data ingestion, processing, and storage solutions.

  • Collaborate with external vendors to integrate diverse data sources, build connections, and develop solutions that enhance the consumer journey for HCPs, Consumers, and Payors.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations to executive teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategies.

  • Develop internal competencies, fostering a data-driven culture and self-service platforms for various stakeholders.

  • Continuously explore and integrate new technologies, methodologies, and tools that support the evolving data landscape.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, or other STEM fields.

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within commercial or healthcare settings, with 8+ in overall experience.

  • Strong business acumen with a general management perspective.

  • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industries is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:


  • Proficiency with advanced analytical software tools such as Python, R, Matlab, etc.

  • Expertise in SQL and relational databases like Oracle, Teradata, or Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Experience with programming languages like C/C++, C#, or Java is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Spotfire, or Cognos, is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align data initiatives with long-term business goals, while identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.

  • A forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to create novel data-driven solutions and foster an environment of continuous innovation.

  • Experience working with health-related datasets such as claims data, electronic health records, and other healthcare-specific data types to uncover actionable insights.

  • A hypothesis-driven approach to data analysis, utilizing critical thinking to test assumptions and deliver validated solutions that support strategic objectives.

  • Ability to make connections between disparate data sources, both internal and external, to build a comprehensive understanding of the customer journey and develop actionable insights.

  • Experience leading data-driven decision-making processes, providing the organization with clear, actionable insights that influence key business strategies.

  • Ability to work independently, while maintaining open communication with leadership and stakeholders.

Additional Information


  • The position can be remote, hybrid or in-person at our Acton, MA Headquarters. The preferred location is near San Diego, CA or Acton, MA.

  • Travel is estimated at 10-15% but will flex depending on business needs.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,438.00 - $242,156.75. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
