The Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing & Tax Planning is responsible for executing global tax planning projects, leading the company's global transfer pricing planning and compliance processes, and assisting with quarterly and annual financial reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee processes related to global transfer pricing compliance and documentation and ensure timely filing of reports and support needed to meet company obligations
Lead and manage projects involving intellectual property and supply chain optimization
Coordinate with Vertiv's global business leaders to monitor and review functions to ensure operations are aligned with transfer pricing policies
Integrating significant acquisitions into Vertiv's supply chain and ensuring compliance and documentation processes are met
Stay knowledgeable of emerging legislation, regulations, and guidance that could impact Vertiv's policies and develop strategies to mitigate risks
Develop defense strategies and conflict mitigation approaches for controversy related to intercompany policies
Lead transfer pricing aspects of quarterly and annual income tax provision processes including development of FIN 48 reserves on intercompany policies and providing necessary support for significant positions
Oversee and manage external tax advisors to ensure timely execution on deliverables and projects are executed within budget
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, CPA, J.D., and/or LLM required
At least 8 years' experience with complex corporate tax matters with global organizations; mix of industry and "Big 4" accounting firm experience preferred
At least 4 years' experience specific to transfer pricing strategy and documentation
Experience with business model tax planning (i.e., supply chain, IP ownership, contract manufacturing, etc.)
At least 4 years' experience in managing a team or similar project management responsibilities
Technical tax experience with M&A activity, internal restructuring, and supply chain strategies
Knowledge of federal, state, and international income tax laws and regulations
Excellent analytical abilities, with a focus on validating data provided by business partners, outside advisers, and accounting systems
Strong communication abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in a team.
