Description: The work week planner and scheduler is responsible for the overall planning, scheduling, and implementation of their respective work week. As project manager for their work week they assume ownership four weeks prior to implementation and are the single point contact for all coordination issues.
Responsibilities: Develop detailed schedules, provide direction and coordinate project activities associated with plant operations and maintenance.
Activities include problem identification and resolution, material and contractor procurement, scheduling, safety permit identification and set-up, execution of the work compared to schedule, post job evaluation of the plan and schedule.
Develop detailed work order plans to achieve high productivity and quality work and ensure safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, and efficient electrical and/or steam generation.
Develop and monitor preventative maintenance activities.
Identify, evaluate, and implement improved work practices and processes and evaluate overall schedule performance.
Assume the role as project manager for their assigned work week.
This includes the responsibility for scheduling and overall planning the work activities in the work week.
Plan and Schedule operation and maintenance activities to achieve high productivity and quality work and ensure safe, reliable, environmentally compliant and efficient electrical and/or steam generation.
Ensuring the organization is prepared to implement the work activities in the work week and that all intergroup coordination issues are resolved prior to the work week.
Ensuring Work Order planning status to ensure all scheduled work orders are properly planed and planned parts are on site prior to schedule freeze date.
Responsible for the organizational preparation of their work week.
As the single point of contact for the work week schedule, they are also responsible for ensuring that the schedule has sufficient detail, is accurately staffed and is generally reasonable.
Resolving conflict between scheduled work and emergent critical work to ensure personnel safety, facility safety, and facility performance goals are met.
Responsible for tracking work to completion in their assigned work week and during the week following their work week.
The accurate closure of work items is as important as the implementation in supporting work order backlog reduction goals.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent through experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
Four years of related experience.
Practical experience with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access) and Oracle WAM is preferred.
Specialized knowledge of the operation and maintenance at an electric generating station is preferred.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Effective oral and written communications skills, including presentation skills to transmit information accurately and understandably.
The ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds.
