Position Summary:

The Director of Product Solutions is crucial to the success of MFCP, requiring an experienced and dynamic leader who can drive innovation, strategic growth, and operational excellence within the technology management function while effectively managing relationships with key suppliers. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and executing product sales strategies, collaborating with category management in the overall technology plans, driving innovation, and ensuring the success of our product portfolio.

This role will also lead a team of technology managers and product specialists, collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, category management, supply chain and operations to achieve business goals. Additionally, you will be responsible along with category management for developing and managing relationships with key suppliers.

Primary Duties:

  • Collaborate with category management in developing and communicating a clear technology strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the technology management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to align technology strategies with company goals and market trends.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technology managers and product specialist, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and goals for the technology management team.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and provide constructive feedback for professional growth.
  • Along with category management, oversee the entire product strategy, ensuring technologies meet market needs and profitability targets.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends.
  • Prioritize and allocate resources effectively to maximize the impact of the technology portfolio.
  • Work closely with engineering and sales teams to ensure the successful integration of technologies into our product offerings.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure effective product launches and sales promotions.
  • Engage with operations to optimize the supply chain efficiency and ensure a seamless flow of product.
  • Communicate with Category Management in the development and selection of the supply base
  • Keep clear lines of communication with the supply chain team related to forecasts and inventory needs.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities and threats
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions about product positioning and investment.
  • Develop and manage budgets related to product sales and profitability.
  • Monitor technology performance against financial targets and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring that products meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Foster strong relationships with key customers and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 10 years sales experience, preferably in fluid connector and/or hydraulic industries.
  • Must be willing to travel 60% of the work week.
  • Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required.
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 a plus.
  • Must be a good listener with above average reasoning ability and make minimal mistakes. Must be a good learner whom can assimilate product knowledge and skills as they are presented.
  • Must be able to understand and calculate gross profit/gross margin, add, subtract, multiply, and divide. The ability to calculate averages and other functions preferred.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude a plus.
  • Experience with industrial distribution preferred. Familiarity with industrial and hydraulic hose and fittings, especially Parker Hannifin a plus.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people and personalities.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • As MFCP is a small employer and employees work in a collaborative team environment, employee must be physically present in the office to perform his/her job functions.
  • This position performs outside sales duties, however as MFCP is a small employer and employees work in a collaborative team environment, employee must work in office as necessary for meetings and to complete administrative duties.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, in accordance with company guidelines

    Salary:

    $120k-$175k + Incentive - Commensurate with skills and experience.
