Scheduler

Summary of the role
The Scheduler will ensure project schedules follow company and industry standards, are complete and meet business objectives. This person must have industrial construction experience and scheduling experience in an enterprise application, i.e. Primavera P6. They must be articulate and able to work with the different groups and levels within the business. Possessing experience in large hydro, industrial or construction projects is an asset.
The following responsibilities form the core of this role:
Major responsibilities are listed but not limited to the following duties:
Assist in the creation, editing, maintaining, and optimization of project schedules for multiple, simultaneous large projects using scheduling tools such as P6 Primavera and Microsoft Project. Assist in the development of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Sub-Contractor Work Breakdown Structure (CWBS), using them to create and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) (> 1500 activities), using generally accepted best scheduling practices.
Track issues, risks, and action items, working with internal and external stakeholders to identify detailed tasks, durations, dependencies, and resources to build the schedule.
Help build a dynamic project schedule with minimum task constraints.
Provide analysis, evaluation, and forecasting of current project status with the established baseline schedule. Identify shortfalls and recommend solutions to project management.
Perform Critical Path Analysis (CPA). Assess the impact of design and/or construction changes and schedule slippages.
Establish a schedule baseline and/or a Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
Document and manage the schedule progress update and modifications process.
Analyze sub-contractor schedules for best practices in dynamic scheduling, potential hiding of problems (e.g., lack of resources, lack of progress, etc.), and inclusion into the IMS.
Creating tracking reports. Creating presentations, dashboards, and reports on the schedule for management reporting.

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business, Construction Management, Project Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Knowledge of project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
An understanding of industry/construction work practices, processes and sequencing and their impact on project scheduling activities is essential.
ERP system experience (SAP preferred).
Proficiency in MS-Office applications, including an exceptional grasp of Excel.
Must have a technical aptitude, be able to analyze information, prepare reports, and drive efficiency.
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate across teams and organizations both orally and in writing
Good judgment and demonstrated ability to work independently under changing conditions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Resourceful and creative
Ability to travel as required (approx. 10%).
