Description:

Maps Credit Union seeks a dynamic Retail Sales Support Manager to co-develop retail banking sales strategies that drive business growth. This position leads effective sales initiatives, projects, and programs to support multiple branch locations while ensuring sales targets and member satisfaction are achieved.


The Retails Sales Support Manager will:

  • Develop comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth across multiple branch locations in partnership with the Head of Retail.
  • Analyze market trends and member needs to identify new sales opportunities and develop targeted sales initiatives.
  • Lead sales support activities in close partnership with retail branch managers and sales staff to achieve sales targets by providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure success.
  • Collaborate with branch managers and professional partners to align sales strategies with credit union initiatives.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings to review progress, share best practices, and provide training on sales techniques and product knowledge.
  • Travel throughout the branch system to evaluate sales culture and conduct on-the-spot sales coaching for branch staff.
  • Actively participate in the decision-making processes affiliated with the Credit Union's tactical and strategic directions while helping staff to recognize and understand the reasoning behind those leadership decisions.
  • Develop and enhance community relations by actively participating in groups that can foster Maps' image and relationship within the community. Drive business back to the credit union to meet business objectives.
  • Analyze branch performance data, prepare reports, and present findings to the Head of Retail highlighting areas of success and opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Maps' professional partners.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and selection of branch employees.
  • Conduct regular assessments of sales and operational processes at each retail location to identify areas for improvement and efficiency enhancement.
  • Maintain operational knowledge by staying informed of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect Credit Union operations by keeping negotiable instruments, cash, keys, and member and/or credit union information secure at all times.
  • Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags, and other compliance-related policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  3. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  4. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret loan and credit insurance documents, including applications, credit reports, policies, and regulations.
  5. Willingness and ability to travel within the service area to conduct Business Development activities.
  6. Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from employees, managers, members, and the public. Skill and ability to meet people and listen.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, over the phone, and via computer or other electronic means.
  8. Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; strong time management, organizational skills, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
  9. Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; intermediate computer skills, including the use of word processing and spreadsheet software applications and e-mail.
  10. Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  11. Ability to cross-sell Credit Union services effectively and accurately.
  12. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.
  13. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  14. Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracy.
  15. Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Banking or equivalent financial experience and business-related (i.e., accounting, economics, finance, management) college-level courses or financial industry-specific training.
  • Eight to ten years in the financial industry with demonstrated progressive responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' proven supervisory/management experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in direct and indirect selling roles, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Requires the availability to work Monday – Saturday hours.
  • Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license for Business Development activities.
  • Must be bondable.

Exempt Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.


This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days remote per week).
