The Planned Maintenance Leader will be responsible for maintaining a high level of machine performance through driving the implementation of a cost-effective Preventative and Predictive maintenance (PPM) program, building a highly skilled Planned maintenance team, and providing oversight to the Tool Crib operation. Through effective communication and coordination of planned maintenance activities across the 24/7 operation, the Planned Maintenance Leader will ensure that equipment is being properly maintained as required to sustain plant operations for the site. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. The Planned Maintenance Leader is responsible for maintaining high machine performance by implementing a cost-effective Preventative and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) program. This role involves building a highly skilled planned maintenance team and overseeing Tool Crib operations. The Planned Maintenance Leader ensures effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities across a 24/7 operation, ensuring equipment is properly maintained to sustain plant operations. Compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and all relevant safety laws is essential. Regular, punctual attendance and the ability to converse in English are required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide leadership and guidance to preventative maintenance team to ensure planned maintenance activities on the manufacturing equipment are performed on-time and in the most efficient way.
Responsible for site-wide planned maintenance strategy in partnership with Manufacturing Unit Technical Leaders & the Reliability team.
Proactively manage all elements of preventative maintenance spend (including spare parts, labor, and services) to budgeted objectives.
Responsible for Tool Crib operations, ensuring targeted inventory levels for spare parts are well maintained.
Coordinate and drive utilization of a Computerized-Maintenance-Management System (CMMS) across the manufacturing site.
Maintain effective partnership with manufacturing unit teams through technical & methodological coaching to address manufacturing process issues.
Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Ensure that equipment is running efficiently and effectively by ensuring PMs are completed thoroughly and on time
Deliver an optimum utilization of resources and spare parts with minimum impact on asset availability
Achieve high level of PM compliance as per targeted objectives
Manage preventative maintenance activities and spend through all departments on plan and within budget
Build an impactful technical team that helps meet or exceed operational objectives (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost)
Supervise ~11 Hourly Associates
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelors in Engineering required or in lieu 10+ years' proven experience in a medical device or highly automated environment.
5+ years manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment, required.
Proven leader with 5+ years of prior supervisory experience required, 10+ years preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth understanding of Preventative and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) programs.
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, particularly in highly automated environments.
Leadership: Ability to lead and develop HighPerforming Maintenance Teams.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in maintenance techniques and methodologies, including trouble shooting and problem-solving.
Project Management: Ability to manage maintenance projects, including budgeting and resource allocation.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Team Building: Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other departments.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
