Job Description:

Our top priority is ensuring customer orders arrive on time, are loaded and unloaded with care, and are packaged correctly. If that's yours too, we may have the Shipping and Receiving role for you! Our team is growing and so is the number of customer orders we are handling, which means Solar Atmospheres of Michigan is looking to add a full-time Shipping and Receiving Associate to the team! Unlike most warehouse positions, this position will work regular business hours of Monday-Friday from 7 am-3:30 pm but occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.

What you'll do
As a Shipping and Receiving Associate at Solar Atmospheres of Michigan in Chesterfield, you will handle customer products before and after the heat-treating process, ensuring they are handled with care throughout. This role will also serve as a backup delivery driver, delivering customer orders or running errands when our current drivers are off or need assistance. Day-to-day you'll:

Receive, pull, and pack orders for customers
Load and unload trucks as needed
Check materials into the computer system to keep accurate records and inventory
Operate standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, rolling ladders, skid loaders, and other material handling tools
Collaborate and assist co-workers in the shipping department, delivery drivers, and Furnace Operators
Serve as a backup driver when needed to deliver customer orders or run errands using a company Sprinter van

Interact with customers professionally and helpfully, assisting in unloading deliveries, and ensuring paperwork needed is complete (when serving as a backup driver)
Perform all other duties as assigned


What you need to thrive in this role

High school diploma
Prior shipping/receiving and delivery driving experience, preferred
Proficiency in ERP systems and UPS Worldship
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Reliability and dependability are a must to ensure our customer's products ship on time
Organizational skills, efficiency, the ability to work independently, and computer skills
Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 50lbs, and work around material handling equipment
Currently possess or can obtain a Michigan Chauffeur's License
