Solar Atmospheres of Michigan is seeking an Outside Sales Manager who enjoys traveling and finding right-fit customers needing a trusted heat treating partner. Travel is involved Monday-Friday and you may be away for a week at a time, but a company car, credit card, and phone will be provided.
What youll do
As a Outside Sales Manager at Solar Atmospheres, youll be out on the road, using a customer-first approach to visit, call, and follow up with prospects who will benefit from a partnership with us. Unlike some sales positions, our leads and opportunities are endless. 95% of our business supports the aerospace, automotive, airline and medical industries so there are a lot of direct and indirect companies that we can connect with that make parts within the industry, all of which need to be heat-treated for durability purposes, which is where we come in!
The area you cover and companies you meet with will vary daily but day to day you can expect to do the following:
Visit multiple prospects and customers a day to build relationships and pitch our servicesCall and follow up with our high volume of prospects and inbound leadsPlan weekly travel schedules and coordinate flights/hotels neededUtilize HubSpot to maintain accurate records of prospecting/customer activitiesProvide daily reports to the Director of Sales on activitiesNetwork and participate at trade shows/conferences throughout the territory
What you need to thrive in this role
Heat treating or Metal Service Center sales background with connections to and relationships with machine and metal fabrication shops throughout MI and WI, requiredComfortability with extensive travelProficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems requiredGeneral knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment of multiple types of materials preferredResults-oriented, motivated, and the ability to work independentlyAbility to multitask, prioritize work, and complete tasks with little supervisionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsValid drivers license and clean driving record, required (company vehicle provided!)
