Summary
The project manager directs, coordinates, or budgets activities concerned with company construction projects. Participates in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversees its organization, scheduling, and implementation while staying on budget.
This is a safety-sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and lead team members, setting clear expectations and goals. Coach, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Work with superintendents, foremen, and Construction Managers to plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with all construction projects and discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of company policy and contract specifications.
Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure the project is completed on schedule and within budget.
Develop and cultivate relationships with new and existing customers and help expand the scope of business to increase revenue and generate a larger customer base for the organization.
Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Represent the company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
Work with Program Manager/VPGM to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with customers.
Assign crews to construction sites to work on specified projects.
Requisition supplies, materials, and sub-contractors as needed to complete a project.
Liaison between field personnel, sub-contractors, management, and administration to facilitate project activities.
Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, crew, etc.
Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.
Ensure the highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Must be in good physical condition with the ability to routinely bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, lift 50lbs or more, lift in awkward positions, stand, and twist for extended periods.
Must be willing to travel out of market/state for up to several weeks at a time (50-70%).
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes DOT physical, background check, and drug/alcohol testing and participate in the random testing program.
Must be willing to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicles. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Must be able to work in a team environment and be a valued member of the crew and the company.
Must have working experience in tower construction management and construction management software.
Must have knowledge of construction management processes and methods and have the ability to manage and work within a budget.
Must have knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
Must be able to plan and see the “Big Picture.”
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and have advanced computer skills.
Must have excellent time, organization, and project management skills.
Soft Skills:
Must be able to communicate at a high level in person, by phone, and by email with team members and clients.
Must be able to lead a crew and project a positive attitude toward others in all work-related settings.
Must be self-motivated with the desire to learn new things and project a positive attitude toward others in all work-related settings.

Supervisory Requirements
This position will directly supervise the Construction Managers and crews if the Construction Manager is not present.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Workdays and hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some overtime requirements.
Travel
Travel is required for this position. Usually between 10-30% of the time.
Education and Experience
Required:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
Five years experience in tower construction management.
Desired:
Bachelor of Science degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field.
Project Management experience.
