RESPONSIBILITIES
Build a consultant relationship with current customers by offering proactive ideas and solutions to enhance their competitive edge and help them succeed.
Diligently prospect for new customers through cold calling and building new relationships.
Achieves sales, margin, and gross profit targets.
Perform effective customer business reviews strengthening customer relationships.
Deliver critical information for procurement and delivery needs of customers to other departments in a timely manner.
Work with inside customer sales representatives to maintain account activities.
Responsibly consider inventory levels on both stock and non-stock products to assure minimal shortages.
Utilize technology to facilitate all communication, analyze data, and streamline processes.
Work with Accounts Receivable on collection of money for product sold.
Attend trade shows, vendor demonstrations, and meetings as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous broadline food service sales or restaurant industry experience preferred.
Sales experience helpful; successful track record in building a sales territory preferred.
Must be willing to cold call.
Ability to confidently close the sale.
General inventory / operations / culinary knowledge (dining establishments) preferred.
Professional appearance is required.
Excellent communication, analytical and computation skills.
Computer literate and willing to embrace new technology.
Safe driving record, valid driver’s license and dependable transportation with valid insurance.
Ability to travel within territory.
Ability to pass background investigation and drug test.
