Private Equity Consultants provide a highly desirable service to clients and prospects of Marsh McLennan Agency. This individual will function as a lead advisory colleague in helping clients with insurance due diligence in a M&A transaction. The Private Equity Consultant will proactively help clients understand and address all complex business risks and financial implications as it relates to business insurance ahead of close.
Thought Leadership
Cultivate a deep understanding of the clients' business strategic priorities, risk strategies, and risk management needs to advise the client on any potential risks associated with the transaction
Understand the client and/or target industry niche served, recognize the typical business problems faced by clients and/or targets and how our service platform across all disciplines provides solutions to those issues
Utilize substantial risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance marketplace to review target company's exposures and loss experience to develop solutions for moderately complex client needs, including recommending additional products and services as solutions to be implemented at time of close
Prepare and deliver due diligence reports to appropriate parties
Effectively communicate due diligence findings and coverage solutions to the client throughout the diligence process
Coordinate with clients' other diligence advisors on any findings or gaps in coverage that materially impact other workstreams
Partner and coordinate with internal and external teams to receive, negotiate, and evaluate quotes from carriers and present the evaluations and recommendations to the client
Participate in presentations to prospective clients as it relates to any diligence findings
Build and maintain relationships with clients and target companies and is the primary point of contact for due diligence related and deal needs throughout the transaction process
Maintain proactive awareness of industry and how changes in the insurance industry, the economy, and legislation impact clients their portfolio companies, and any potential acquisitions
Help establish and build the Private Equity - Merger and Acquisition team
Mentor and coach junior staff members and Private Equity Analyst(s)
Develop and nurture relationships with private equity firms, law firms, accounting firms, investment banks, and financial institutions with an aim of leveraging these into future business opportunities
Active internal communication to keep abreast of changing risk and insurance market condition
Liaise with internal practices to implement insurance placements
Represent Marsh McLennan Agency in client and insurance industry through visible writing, speaking, and networking engagements
Advocate for changes and additions to our service platform that increase the value created for our clients, add barriers to exit, and follow our strategic direction

Required
Experience at an insurance brokerage with corporate and/or global accounts
3+ years of experience in a Due Diligence/Private Equity role, or demonstrated experience with clients considering M&A in an insurance broking context
Proven track record for accomplishing specific tasks
Preferred
BS/BA in business, management, insurance, or related field
Professional qualification (Actuarial, ACA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent)
In depth understanding of investment manager operations and market participants
Knowledge of operational risk frameworks across asset classes, including equity and fixed income, hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure
General understanding of EBITDA and corporate financial statements
