The Role:



The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of production employees and complies with all safety, quality, and operational performance standards.


Additionally, the Product Supervisor supports the Assistant Manager in ensuring production schedules meet customer expectations, quality, and safety while making themselves available to employees throughout the shift.



Your Responsibilities:


  • Interprets specifications and job orders for employees and assigns duties.




  • Works with the Manager and other production areas to resolve daily production issues such as material, delivery, quality, and employee performance.


  • Forecasts staffing needs to meet the peak demands of the business. Plans operations and utilization of skills and staffing to ensure timely production and quality standards for all production shifts.


  • Anticipates production problems and, where feasible, devises and implements procedures to offset loss of staffing hours and interruptions.


  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.


  • Monitors and reports daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime.


  • Suggests changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase department or work team efficiency.


  • Manages personnel issues, including, but not limited to, vacation approvals, time card approvals, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.


  • Monitors conformance with company work rules, policies, and procedures; administers disciplinary measures when necessary.


  • Coordinates with Quality Control to maintain quality standards; takes appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies.


  • Assists the Manager and Quality team in identifying non-conformance causes and assists in non-conformance dispositioning by utilizing skills and technical research.


  • Assists the Manager and Quality team in analyzing and collecting data related to manufacturing issues.


  • Partner with the manager and quality team to develop documentation of manufacturing instructions and quality control processes.


  • Completes required portions of the various QC inspection forms and reports while performing inspection and test procedures.


  • Tracks Daily Quality Outputs and publishes reports to inform others of fundamental quality issues, trends, and corrective action items.


  • Applies lean production techniques and supervises the development of teams, stations, or cells to support the process.




Requirements:



  • At least 10+ years of experience in an applicable manufacturing operation; working knowledge of lean principles.


  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing and Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, or an appropriate technical discipline is preferred.


  • Proven working experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


  • Experience writing routine reports and correspondence.


  • Experience speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees.


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
