Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
Must demonstrate lockout tagout knowledge when servicing electrical equipment.
Must be capable of understanding and repairing electrical equipment such as: Control Logic, Allen Bradley SLC 500, Seimens, Vision Systems, etc.
Repair of motor overload and current protection including fuses and breakers.
Ability to work on 24VDC systems and a working knowledge of 120-, 220/240- and 480-volt power distribution installation, maintenance, and repair.
Must be able to communicate professionally and clearly with co-workers and management.
Accomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency.
Follows all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards and observes the operations to ensure a safe work environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Full and complete understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and PLC troubleshooting.
Proven electrical background; 3rd year apprentice preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Machine set-up, troubleshoot equipment failures, and perform repair and prevent maintenance services ensuring that all safety procedures are being followed.
Must have strong PLC troubleshooting capability and ability to read and program code.
Must have a good working knowledge of all aspects of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning-related control systems.
Read and interpret electrical control and mechanical assembly drawings, as well as service manuals for all equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair both Electrical and Mechanical problems associated with Production and Facility equipment in a timely manner.
Must be able to work to repair equipment back to service during emergency breakdowns.
Competencies:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift.
Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb.
Ability to lift between 30-50 pounds.
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions (Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job):
Inside conditions, working in tight areas, high noise levels from the production environment, including some exposure to outside weather elements, oil, and dirt.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
