Job Summary
The Cloud Security Architect will provide technical thought leadership and guidance for technology teams on all matters related to cloud security from strategy to implementation. This critical role will report to the CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) and partner with leaders across the business to develop and deliver solutions that meet requirements, support business strategies, and protect TriWest's intellectual property and data, and ensure all Azure security tools are in-scope as well as numerous best of breed technologies to fortify the layers of defense to ensure a secure enterprise with repeatable/automated processes that align with modern methodologies and best practices.
Education & Experience
Required:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing or supporting security technologies and solutions
• 2+ years of experience designing and implementing security in Microsoft Azure, including the use of native tools
• CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect or Security Engineer certification
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, encryption, authentication, authorization, and audit capabilities
• Strong oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with a variety of cross-functional roles with occasional executive presence
• Strong understanding of threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits common to cloud applications or environments and experience implementing controls to mitigate those threats
Preferred:
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions for cloud-based systems, including IAM, network security, data protection, DevSecOps and compliance
• Experience in a role that has designed and implemented FISMA Moderate/High controls
Key Responsibilities
• Designing security services in cloud-based programs based on pre-defined architecture frameworks and risk appropriate controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, software architects, and DevOps teams to design and implement security solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure coding practices, vulnerability assessments, and regular security testing.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's cloud infrastructures, applications, and data flows.
• Lead threat modelling and risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities. Develop and execute strategies to mitigate and address these risks.
• Evaluate and recommend security tools, technologies, and services that enhance our cloud security posture.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to continuously enhance our security strategies.
• Maintain and improve the security posture of the enterprise by defining security controls, policies and standards and monitor alerts for data, apps, containers, infrastructure, and networks.
• Design access configurations within a cloud solution environment using the defense-in-depth principle.
• Create and maintain documentation for architectural designs, processes, and policies.
• Develop auditing methodologies and architecture to manage and protect data in cloud computing environments.
• Evaluate and implement security controls to meet or exceed the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) in "high" information classification boundary.
• Implement Information Security Technology, Physical Security Controls and Federal data security requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance and on call availability is required.

Working Conditions
Working Conditions:
• Limited infrequent travel may be required to TriWest remote locations to present security awareness material or to assess information security posture
• Act as a primary point of contact for all information security related incidents requiring consultation or response, 24 hour accessibility
• Provide high level of customer service to employees, business leadership and IT
• Work in a cubed office environment with multiple computers and monitors
• Heavy computer usage and documentation review
• Extensive computer work with prolonged sitting
• Requires successful completion of a background check
