Responsibilities
Work as an ambassador of safety. Coordinate and communicate safety culture through individual and team meetings/conversations, IE safety contacts, hazard recognitions, safety meetings. Execute accountability of safety rules and policies.
Coordinate with others, including other manufacturing personnel, engineering, and quality control, to ensure a quality product produced.
Evaluate personnel on a regular basis and formally document per employee’s review schedule. Identify areas of strength, and areas of improvement. Coordinate plans of actions for areas of improvement and document on formal reviews. Recommend pay increases based on reviews in accordance with the pay scale. Deviation from the scale shall require management approval.
Administer discipline within the scope of the Personnel Manual and with management approval, as needed.
Facilitate daily communication with all employees.
Understand where product is in the manufacturing process.
Review and approve time; ensuring that time is properly allocated to the correct operations/work center.
Coordinate vacation requests and turn them into human resources, managing the time off policy requirements.
Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency.
Promote employee’s involvement through team building & continuous improvement events.
Work with human resources to resolve any time off discrepancies.
Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED:
Manufacturing employees assigned to them by management.
Assisting other supervisors when vacation or time-off is being utilized.
Education and Certifications
Two years of college and 5-7 years’ experience or a high school diploma and 10-15 years’ experience.
Qualifications
Ability to work will in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
Basic understanding of computers.
Reading, writing and basic math skills.
Read and understand blueprints.
Excellent communication skills.
High degree of attention to detail.
Reasoning skills-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
Ability to deal with and resolve problems/conflicts with vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
Basic understanding of manufacturing is preferred.
Strong computer literacy attributes, including MS Office and exposure to an MRP system.
Forklift certification is a plus.
Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
