This role will work with global partners in Europe, so the requirement for this position is to live in the eastern time zone. The ideal candidate will live within a commutable distance to one of the below locations. While this role will begin as remote, it is possible it will transition to more of an office-based role in the future.

What will you do as a Sr IT Project Manager?
As a Sr IT Project Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be part of the Analytical Services Division (ASD) IT Project Management Office group and have the unique opportunity to administer, monitor, and lead multiple complex projects from initiation through delivery. Our project managers work cross functionally in a matrixed environment to deliver project solutions within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost. It is expected that they establish effective relationships as the liaison between the department and the business line customer to provide consultation, guidance and support to business requirements and ensure that all targets and results are met.
Responsibilities:
Determine project scope, goals, and results.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with teams from different departments to ensure project objectives are achieved on time.
Address project risks and issues, and create plans to mitigate them.
Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to team members involved.
Plan and manage budget and forecasts associated with technology projects.
Conduct thorough project evaluations to ensure quality and efficiency.
Proactively manage and report on project health status including scope, resources, timeline, and budget.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Ensure vendor contracts are properly structured and meet project requirements and expectations.
Manage vendor relationships and results to meet contractual obligations and project objectives.
Ensure all project results meet the customer's time/quality/cost expectations.
Key competencies of this role:
Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills.
Proficiency in the key principles of cross-functional project management (ex: time, quality, cost).
Strong financial acumen and extensive experience with project budget management (i.e. actuals vs forecast, vendor contracting, etc.).
Solid track record of strong project management skills.
Excellent social skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels.
Critical thinker with solid judgment and strong initiative (self-starter/go getter).
Ability to work independently and be a creative and innovative problem solver.
Ability to delegate, effectively prioritize own and project team members workload.
Ability to effectively use automated systems and computerized applications such as Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Familiar with formal change management processes and methods.
Seasoned in managing geographically distributed teams.
Previous Contract Research Organization (CRO) experience, particularly in the labs space, would be ideal.
Previous experience implementing clinical/lab related solutions in a validated environment is preferred.
Knowledge and experience with EPPM tools, specifically Planview, is preferred.
Education and experience requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in leading large-scale IT projects (8+ years).
Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
PMP and Agile certifications preferred.
Scrum, SDLC, Agile, large complex project budget oversight (500K+), great communication, GxP regulatory guideline experience is a plus.
Highly preferred experience in a life science field or industry.
