Job Summary
The CAMCM Managing Administrator is the lead administrative staff supporting the Center for Advanced Materials for Climate Mitigation (CAMCM). This position provides high-level administrative and project management support while performing a diverse range of routine and specialized tasks related to grants, personnel, finances, communication, and reporting. The person in this position will contribute to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration on solving climate change among various experts, promoting UChicago's leadership in climate change studies through materials innovation, and launching an outreach initiative to educate the broader community about materials and climate. In addition, this position serves as a managing consultant to the Catalyst Design for Decarbonization Center (CD4DC) and assists with reviewing related grant proposals as needed. This position is eligible for a fully remote work schedule.
Responsibilities
Manage program and administrative functions including planning and scheduling, program evaluation, policy implementation, and administration, marketing, fundraising, and proposal development. Develop operational plans for the Center.
Lead the development of internal and external communications materials, such as annual reports, website content, and social media.
Prepare materials for print publication including editing, formatting, and ensuring all of the publication's requirements are met.
Organize events, such as seminars, workshops, and faculty visits including arranging travel, communicating with the visitors, serving as the first point of contact, and preparing communication materials for the event.
Assist with the development and implementation of community outreach programs. Track success of these programs, gathering data about the participants and sharing outcomes with the project leadership.
Prepare and edit grant proposal documents.
Purchase necessary goods and services for grant supported work, following University policies and procedures, and working closely with the financial administrator to ensure appropriate account allocation.
Independently manage projects, digital assets, and the archiving of work.
Interact with faculty, researchers and staff for committee work or information.
Coordinate with staff from other university departments as needed.
Uses in-depth knowledge and experience to administer the delivery of services to program participants and/or beneficiaries such as communicating with programs sponsors and academic advising for undergraduate students.
Has a deep understanding when interacting with faculty, researchers and staff for committee work or information.
Perform other related work as needed.
