Overview

Responsibilities
• Perform entry of pricing into rate database, which also acts as a rate engine for all freight invoices, to allow shipments to be automatically rated
• Maximize the number of bills that can be automatically rated through tariff building, keying and attaching to specific accounts
• Perform rate database revisions and changes to support annual rate increase
• Support computer-related rating questions from internal and external customers
• Maintain a log and create customized rating files for customers. Field troubleshooting calls from customers.
• Review and log all incoming pricing requests. Check for discrepancies and communicate with sales force to resolve problems.
• Program freight bill remarks in the billing system
• Review new creation reports daily to attach pricing to newly created sic/codes. When necessary, correct freight bills if rated incorrectly, distribute errors, and submit requests to correct duplicate or invalid codes.
• Research and resolve automated rating-related problems.
• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
Qualifications
• Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• High School Graduate or GED required
• Former data entry experience is beneficial
• Candidates must possess typing speed of 60+ wpm and strong ten key ability.
• Working knowledge of DOS and Windows NT is required
• Experience with Dbase, Access, and Excel is a definite plus
• Interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and analytical skills are required
• Candidates should have the ability to review and interpret data
• Overtime may be required depending on workload needs
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
• Sedentary work – exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of forces frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are only required occasionally.
• Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer terminal, and extensive reading.

• Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Talking and hearing required to communication with and listen to others to share or receive information. May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others.
