The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position in microbiology to begin Fall 2025. Appointment at the rank of assistant professor is likely, but qualified candidates may be considered for a higher rank. Teaching responsibilities will include developing an advanced course in the candidate's area of specialty and participating in teaching throughout our innovative curriculum, including introductory, core (e.g., genetics or cell biology) and capstone courses. Experience in the area of immunology or virology is desirable.
Qualifications: PhD in microbiology, virology, immunology, or a related field; postdoctoral experience strongly desired. Applicants should have demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring and commitment to developing an active research program engaging undergraduate students.
