This is a temporary part-time 25 hours/week position with option for medical benefits at full employee cost
Work Hours (for hourly positions): Consists of a 25-hour workweek Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Actual working hours are to be determined at the onset of employment. This position will require occasional flexibility and working some evenings and Saturdays.
Hourly Wage: $22.00/hour

General Summary: The Disability Resources and Services Assistant serves as the primary test proctor for student with approved disability-related accommodations and oversees the testing site during scheduled hours. This assistant performs all duties related to test administration and coordination of Disability Resources and Services Offices during schedule hours.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Required
1. High School Diploma
Minimum of two years previous student service or customer service experience.
2. Ability to understand how learning can be affected by disabilities and provide appropriate accommodations.
3. Ability to work with students of all abilities.
Preferred
1. Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
2. At least one-year experience in a higher education or testing environment.
3. Prior experience working with students requiring special accommodations.
Communication Skills
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills. Knowledge of Accuplacer or other administrative software a plus.
Other Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and public speaking skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with people. Excellent written communication skills especially in the areas of report writing and business correspondence. Knowledge of the Community College and Higher Education system.
Duties:
Disability Resources and Services Duties1. Assist with exam proctoring for students whose accommodations necessitate examinations occurring within the Disability Resources and Services Office. This includes providing proctoring services, overseeing the scheduling of exam and coordinating with the Proctoring Coordinator & Disability Resources and Services administrators.2. Perform day-to-day coordination of all accommodated testing activities.3. Communicate any changes to testing schedule with appropriate staff.4. Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the test environment.5. Act as the primary proctor at designated testing site 6. Provide excellent student and customer service by answering questions from visitors and callers.7. Provide one on one care and coaching for students with disabilities.8. Recommends, requests and obtains resources, materials and technology necessary for student9. Maintain records, process scores, and produce reports as needed 10. Provide administrative support and coverage at reception area when possible.11. Respond to faculty & staff alerts and other alerts for students who are experiencing difficulty in the classroom
Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
