ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Duties will include the operation and maintenance of digital high-speed and standard frame rate digital video cameras, using local and remote control systems, recorders, timing systems, computers, and other data collection equipment.
  • Other duties will require the ability to modify and install computer program changes to meet mission requirements, work with engineering during system modifications, and have a thorough knowledge of computer utilization.
  • Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job related areas such as PIPR, Security and Safety, TMDE, HAZMAT, etc. as required.
  • Will be used through cross-utilization to support other systems in the Explosive Test Facilities as required.
  • Ability to provide support of test missions and task work on offshore facilities is a plus.
  • Overtime, TDY, and offshore mission support are required to meet mission/task requirements.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • The Electronics Technician, Maintenance maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, laser, electro-optics, infrared, telemetry, and communications systems, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.
  • The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Must be qualified to operate; maintain; repair; and modify complex state-of-the-art electronic, electro-optical and electro-mechanical equipment. Must be systems oriented and have the ability and knowledge to consolidate component sub-systems and assemblies into a workable system.
  • Should be proficient in the operation and maintenance of the Pressure Data Acquisition System, VAL TS fragment data collection system, as well as knowledge using the High Techniques/Synergy Data Collection System.
  • Must be experienced and proficient in range controlling and adhere to all range safety control requirements.
  • Must be proficient in the operation and maintenance of Digital High Speed Video Cameras.
  • Should possess a good understanding of arena setup and testing and possess leadership qualities to guide in various setup situations.
  • Reports to a site supervisor.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Will be required to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Required to use and wear appropriate safety equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned to support requirements in job-related areas such as environmental, safety, and security.
  • Supports E-OMS operational objectives.
  • Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security, and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.


Job Requirements:

OTHER DUTIES: Other functions include assisting in the orientation and training of other technicians at this level when directed by the supervisor. May be assigned additional responsibilities as a lead technician. Will perform general housekeeping and other job related tasks of a non-technical nature such as cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles and support vans, corrosion control, painting, lawn care, and others. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a technical or service school graduate and have five years' experience as an Electronic Technician. Required to have thorough knowledge of electronic troubleshooting, repair, installation, and operation of high speed digital video cameras and associated equipment. Must have thorough knowledge of components and system characteristics to enable the selection of replacement parts to maintain high-speed digital and standard digital video cameras, remote systems, encoders, power source, computer controls, and Kineto Tracking Mounts (KTM). Knowledge of camera configurations is required. Requires manual dexterity necessary to perform repairs and modifications to small assemblies such as integrated circuit boards. Will be required to coordinate scheduled maintenance, task requirements, and assist engineering with the development and design of operational improvements. Knowledge of computer operations and ability to utilize specialized software to accomplish mission's data acquisition is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
