Position: Associate Professional Specialist at the Urban Nexus Lab
Description: The Associate Professional Specialist at the Urban Nexus Lab will work with Professor Anu Ramaswami to collate and analyze new data sets related to work she is leading on with material-energy flow modeling, and, energy sector or food system transition modeling. The goal of the Urban Nexus Lab is to advance sustainable, Healthy, and equitable cities through Knowledge co-production and next modeling of seven key transboundary infrastructure and food systems. Through multiple National Science Foundation (NSF) grants and partnerships with more than 30 cities in the US and India, as well as emerging innovative partnerships with metropolitan regions, the Urban Nexus lab has developed innovative datasets and models to inform infrastructure transitions towards decarbonization, environmental sustainability, health, and equity. The successful individual will have three or more years of experience post PhD (or equivalent) with a degree and research publications related to urban metabolism and food/energy transition modeling; demonstrated experience with creating and managing large datasets; and demonstrated flexibility and availability to support the PI in work across different sectors. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, and benefits are included. The initial appointment is for one year, part-time at 60% effort (60% duty time) at the rank of Associate Professional Specialist, with the possibility of renewal.
