Position Summary:
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Jira/Confluence administrator/specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of duties, including designing, researching, prototyping, building new, and supporting existing products. Strong candidates will have a desire to drive change. The chosen administrator/specialist will collaborate with business stakeholders, team engineers, and analysts on various projects, using in-depth knowledge of the latest development standards and existing engineering methodologies to lead the way. In addition to being a good communicator, all candidates should be creative thinkers with excellent problem-solving skills and a focus on simplicity and scalability as foundational perspectives. You will work in our CIO Shop and support internal and customer-facing projects. This will require a mix of in-office (Arlington, VA, and Remote).
Responsibilities:
The Atlassian Jira/Confluence Administrator supports a corporate-wide ITSM and Project Toolkit Instance daily.
In this role, you will provide customer-facing end-to-end support for a customer new to the Atlassian tool suite.
Initial responsibilities include maintaining and continuing to develop Jira projects, training project managers and end users on Atlassian tools, and guiding the customer with best-practice approaches for document management and workflows.
Gather and validate customer requirements to ensure new development meets expectations, and conduct testing and close-out activities to gain customer acceptance.
Create and manage Jira projects (or sub-projects), including roles, issue types, components, workflows, and release-based configuration for engagements adhering to Isos internal Jira implementation guidelines
Create incidents and workflows for multiple existing tools in JIRA. Manage user permissions for tools according to the needs of projects and teams.
Recommend and design standard and custom JIRA workflows. Work with JIRA filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and JIRA administration.
Communicate and share knowledge with internal and external contacts at all levels.
Provide training to technical and non-technical teams on the use of Atlassian tools. Investigate, troubleshoot, and fix issues related to development or the applications.
Recommend and set up Atlassian Plugins Document standards, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for system admins and users.
Qualifications:
3-6 years of applicable experience.
2 years experience as a Jira administrator with experience customizing Jira projects with various schemes, complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes required.
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with the Atlassian product suite, specifically focusing on Jira as a project/application administrator.
Experience administering and developing software team solutions on Atlassian tools, especially Jira and Confluence. Experience designing content management and data taxonomies.
Excellent understanding of Jira workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, screens schemes, etc.
Familiarity with databases and SQL competence; demonstrated experience in writing scripts experience in a supporting technical discussion with customers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
