Summary

InterDigital is currently seeking a detail-oriented Director, Payroll and Accounts Payable Team Leader to be part of our Finance team. This role entails responsibility for leading and developing the payroll and accounts payable teams, while ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of payroll and accounts payable processes within the company. The leader will work independently and manage a team of professionals, implement best practices, and utilize technology to enhance services delivery.

Job Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage transactional support functions, including oversight of payroll, accounts payable and purchasing, ensuring high performance

  • Lead the continuous improvement of payroll and accounts payable processes, identifying opportunities for automation and standardization

  • Establish and maintain high quality service standards, fostering customer centric approach to service delivery and ensuring timely resolution to questions and issues

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports to management

  • Partner with HR, Information Systems and Accounting teams to ensure accuracy, optimal automation between systems, timely and accurate accounting for payroll and accounts payable

  • Oversee the analysis of payroll data to identify trends and potential issues, present data to senior management with a high degree of accuracy

  • Oversee and ensure adherence to all applicable labor laws, regulations, company policies.

  • Advise on the development and implementation of policies and procedures for any new legal or regulation requirements

  • Collaborate with Information Systems to implement system upgrades and integrations

  • Ensure the teams adhere to financial controls and audit requirements

  • Interface with external/internal auditors, and external vendors

Qualifications


  • 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in payroll management

  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and processes

  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and customer service orientation

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, having managed remote teams

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Multi-state payroll experience

  • International experience is preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines

  • Confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive employee information

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently
