In this position, you will be part of TASC's Center for Health and Justice (CHJ). CHJ informs public policy; provides consulting, training, and technical assistance; and conducts research to advance knowledge and evidence-based practice. CHJ partners with program leaders, policymakers, and researchers across the country and offers solutions to improve community health, reduce rearrest, and save money.


We are seeking a full time Program Manager

Starting at $52,000 – contingent upon experience, education, etc.


Summary: This position is responsible for the management of consulting, training, and technical assistance (TTA) projects in corrections and community engagement surrounding reentry issues in a federally funded US Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) TTA Center, particularly with and on behalf of corrections and community-based entities. The program manager, in collaboration with Center partners and TTA Center staff, coordinates development and delivery of all consulting and TTA activities for Center grantees to ensure that action plans, individual TTA plans, goals, and milestones are fulfilled. This individual will work collaboratively with internal staff and external partners, grantees, BJA, and other stakeholder organizations. The candidate may be work remotely or be based in CHJ's Chicago headquarters.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages consulting, training and technical assistance deliverables designed to reduce recidivism and build community recovery. Assist grantees in develop action plans and individualized TTA plans based on the project, grantee state of readiness, and other considerations.
  • Provides consulting to grantees through activities such as on-site and remote training, technical assistance and coaching, assessing sites' needs, determining levels of TA interventions, writing/editing Center materials, contributing to Center workshops/presentations, conducting interviews, and developing recommendations to help grantees meet project goals.
  • Works with consulting clients, project partners and funders, cultivating positive, productive relationships and providing good customer service.
  • Ensures timely completion/delivery of quality contract deliverables, including working with grantees and partners on products such as newsletters or briefs, workshops, webinars, podcasts, etc. through coordination with Center staff, subject matter experts and external partners.
Requirements:

Our Ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in public health, public policy, criminology, or related field 2-4 years of experience in relevant fields, including the safety net health system and the justice system field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience in the field of deflection, pre-arrest diversion, co-responder, and community responder deflection models.
  • Experience, understanding and knowledge on delivery of consulting and technical assistance services. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe and Google business products.
  • Strong project and financial management skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, self-directed, resourceful, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work efficiently, both independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with diverse partners
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • Experience and comfort with public speaking
  • Ability to articulate and attend to big picture issues while managing detailed, day-to-day concerns
  • Ability to prepare written materials for various audiences, including reports and correspondences.

The agency currently offers hybrid work schedules that combines in-office and remote work. Employees are required to report to the work site three days per week with the option to work up to two days remotely.
