The plant Nurse Practitioner is the manager of the Medical Department with administrative duties and responsibilities in the direction of assigned staff and in support of plant goals and objectives. He or she must be qualified to provide advice and counsel to plant management on matters of Occupational Health as described in the Health Services Manual
Essential Functions:
Providing episodic, preventative, and acute health care to patients in an occupational health setting.
Conducting histories and physical examinations
Identifying emergency situations and providing care within a legal scope of practice
Assists with investigations of injuries or illnesses that are suspected of being work-related.
Assists with investigations of injuries or illnesses that are suspected of being work-related.
Performs various minor medical procedures, such as suturing of lacerations and removal of foreign bodies from the cornea, with the intent of minimizing the expense of outside medical care.
Requirements:
Unrestricted Ohio state license to practice as an NP.
1 year of Occupational Medicine experience as an NP, preferably in an industrial setting, although will accept Emergency Room or Urgent Care experience within the last year.
Knowledge of and experience working with OSHA and workers' compensation.
