Job Description: Summary of duties – Assist with planning, direction and maintaining the functions and day-to-day operations of the security department for the company. Assisting the Facility Security Officer with the company's compliance with National Industrial Security Program. Ensure security records and files are complete and up to date with required documentation. Assisting with establishing and implementation of security program policies and procedures for processing personnel and facility clearances. Assists with creation and maintaining security training programs. This job has the ability to be hybrid but must live within driving distance from Headquarters in Chesapeake, VA.
Specific description of duties:
AFSO will focus on completing tasks in accordance with the National Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117).
Assist with ensuring the company is operating in compliance with standards.
Provide support with clearance processing, clearance verifications and visit requests through DISS and NBIS.
Provide guidance and assistance to company personnel. This includes DISS /NBIS account management, maintain existing and initialize new personnel security clearances, and process/handle visit requests.
Provide security training and briefings for initial, refresher and foreign travel briefings.
Provide security awareness training to employees, contractors, and other relevant personnel. Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
Assist/support with all security related tasks to include maintaining database, updating DISS/NBIS, visit requests, responding to security inquires training, briefings and annual DCSA facility self-inspections and Security Audits.
Continue professional development knowledge and keep abreast of the interworking in the field of security.
Other administrative duties to assist with the contracts department.
Qualifications :
Knowledge of the 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule, DD254s, self-inspections, adverse reporting requirements, clearance processing, classified meeting procedures, document control, and physical security protocols
Ability to operate standard DoD security databases and tools, including DISS/NBIS, NCAISS and eApp
HS diploma or GED with 5+ years' experience, or Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in Industrial Security/Business Administration
Position requires US citizenship and must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
