Job Description
Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
Support new and in-line vaccine programs
Provide analytical assay support for in-line product improvement studies.
Provide technical support for new and in-line products
Routine sample testing to support in-line product improvement.
Participate in departmental and cross functional project teams
Perform analysis of vaccine products and process intermediates utilizing various analytical techniques
Document work as required for GMP compliance
Author scientific reports, SOPs, and assay procedures
Effectively summarize and present results and recommendations at meetings and technical review sessions
Interact with cross-functional team members to design studies that will provide meaningful results
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess :
Experience with PCR, Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), Western Blot, Southern blot, Cell biology and/or virology experience
Strong laboratory/bench skills, with previous experience independently and collaboratively designing, executing and interpreting the results of analytical assays
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hands-on laboratory setting, self-motivated, adaptable, and a positive attitude
Strong scientific, computer, organizational, and documentation skills, attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform method development and optimization
Familiarity with aseptic techniques
BS/MS Degree in biotechnology, biology, cell biology, virology, biochemistry, or other related degree concentration with 1-2 years experience.
Authorization to work in the United States
