A Day in the Life
National Spine Financial Analyst - CST US Sales

Serve as the lead US Spine sales analyst for the CST business. Lead coordination of US Spine revenue forecasting and analysis of growth initiatives and share gain levers. Drive both near-term and long-term field outlooks for US Spine and be a key business partner to field leadership with concise and usable intelligence. Play a critical role in designing and generating revenue reporting for CST leadership and senior Medtronic leadership.

The Cranial and Spinal Technologies (CST) operating unit is redefining cranial and spinal procedures to reduce variability and improve outcomes with the goal of restoring long-term quality of life for more patients. We are the first company to offer an integrated solution that includes artificial intelligence-driven surgical planning, personalized spinal implants, and robotic-assisted surgical delivery to make patient care more customized..
Position Responsibilities


  • Key business partner with sales and spine leadership for decision support. Own the responsibility for identifying, measuring and reporting on strategic initiatives and gap management in US Spine.

  • Drive successful business outcomes by performing & delivering Executive-level analysis of sales performance, productivity and profitability including a full P&L perspective with variance & ratio analysis.

  • Own national trend-based and growth initiative driven revenue forecasts with evaluation analysis of growth initiative performance to aid Senior Leadership with strategy & decisions.

  • Partner with the multiple functions within the spine business to drive revenue forecasts and own all system submissions of forecasts and plan.

  • Deliver Executive-level monthly/quarterly financial packages highlighting key drivers & performance indicators of revenue performance, including risks & opportunities and paths to consistent growth and market share gain.

  • Partner with business on mid & long term revenue expectations including new products, competitive impacts and macroeconomic factors.

  • Key contributor to strategic planning and AOP process including resource trade off decisions.

  • Partner with the CST FP&A team and the in support of monthly & quarterly business reviews.

  • Proactively seek out areas of process & productivity improvement.

  • Ad hoc analysis and special deep dives. Engage in special projects as assigned.

  • Collaborate with RTG Sales Finance Team members to create robust and consistent operating mechanisms for driving regional sales leader accountability and intelligence for optimal execution.

  • Collaborate with Sales Systems team to optimize systems tools and reporting.

  • Engage in special projects as assigned.

  • All activities must be performed in compliance with the local Quality System.

  • Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.

  • Performs and analyzes financial modeling, economic research, trends and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, and cost against budget, variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and/or income statements.

  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides insights to management.

  • Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, and analysis.

  • May provide analysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit, division or group.

  • Domestic travel up to 20%

Basic Qualifications (MUST HAVE)

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting

  • OR Advanced Degree with 8+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting

Desired/Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Engineering

  • MBA degree in Finance is desirable

  • Contracting experience

  • Ability to work well under pressure and deliver tough messages aimed at enabling the sales management team and RTG to succeed

  • Sound analytical skills, ability to manipulate and interpret data for decision making

  • Solid business acumen

  • Self-motivated and goal oriented

  • Tactful, exercises independent judgment and discretion.

  • Excellent written/oral communication & presentation skills

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$127,200 - $190,800
