This position will ensure that revenue targets are achieved and positioning for continual growth is established. These outcomes must be achieved at acceptable operating margins, and in full compliance with Intertek policies and expectations for ethics, commercial and contractual compliance, and Divisional/ Corporate business strategy.
Scope:
The role is responsible for sales and business development activity across the various IS North America businesses. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring that effective cross-division sales cooperation and collaboration is achieved in North America, and that IS North America provides adequate and effective sales support to other Intertek Industry Services locations around the world.
Principal Responsibilities:
Selling relevant services to existing clients and cultivating new client accounts
Manage sales activity to ensure that an adequate pipeline of developing opportunities is maintained.
Develop, maintain and promulgate and clear and logical business development and selling strategy document.
Ensure that adequate and appropriate sales expertise and capacity is maintained to effectively and reliably deliver the sales strategy.
Ensure that suitable incentive programs are implemented and effectively managed across all sales personnel.
Ensure that sales activity and performance of individual sales personnel is regularly and effectively tracked and monitored, and that necessary corrective action is taken in a timely manner.
Ensure that client-relationships are established and managed in a manner that is reflective of the scale and tactical importance of each customer contact.
Ensure that requests for proposal, and other client information requests related to new business, are captured, managed and actioned in an effective and timely manner.
Ensure that all proposals and other sales related deliverables are prepared, presented , reviewed, checked and approved in accordance with Company expectations and policies, drawing collaborative input from respective Operational teams as necessary.
Ensure that cross-selling within the IS North America business units , and beyond, is effectively achieved and suitably leveraged to the maximum benefit of the company and our customers.
Ensure that marketing and promotional activity is planned and executed in an effective and responsible manner, and that marketing resources are deployed in a strategy-optimized manner.
Contribute to the development of budgets and regular forecasts, and ensure that adequate collaboration between sales and operational groups takes place to support effective service delivery capacity planning.
Participate in and contribute effectively to, the leadership team for the IS North America business.
Contribute to sales pricing models to ensure that adequate operational margins are achievable by operational business units.
Provide an interface for global business development and inter-company bidding.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline or other applicable technical field, or at least 15 years applicable industry experience
Experience selling Industry Service solutions or a similar type of product
Experience in the development of an Industry Services targeted client group
MBA or equivalent business education preferred
Demonstrated successful background in sales of complex technical services to major industrial buyers in international/global environment
establishing and maintaining credible audience with senior/ executive customer personnel
Detailed experience in negotiating major services contracts with oil & gas operators and EPCs
Demonstrated experience and understanding in sales forecasting and development of budget projections
At least five years' experience managing teams of professional sales personnel
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Experience in Ability to exercise motivational leadership, foster team work and organizational alignment.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interface with personnel at all levels in the organization.
Leadership skills including ability to provide clear direction to team, set high performance standards, create climate of accountability and demonstrates highest levels of integrity in all relationships and dealings
Ability to be a supportive mentor and leader to others
