Taylor Power Systems is a manufacturer of standby and prime diesel and gas generator systems in Clinton, MS. Our Engineering Department is expanding to allow the design of additional generator models and products. With over 30 years of manufacturing experience, our company competes in the national marketplace and looks to enhance our product line through ongoing custom design of current products and innovative planning of new products.
Job Accountabilities:
Assist the Engineering team with the design efforts in development of new products and enhancements to existing products.
Gain input from customers, dealers, industry groups, building design engineers and company sales personnel on needed emergency standby and prime power products for commercial and industrial applications.
Coordinate design efforts with the engineering group, manufacturing personnel and technical support personnel.
Research the specifications and performance of mechanical parts, structures and components that would be incorporated into the product design.
Assist with estimating the cost of materials and assembly to assure competitive pricing of all power generation products.
Be directly involved in the manufacturing, testing and U. L. certification of prototype units.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Mechanical Engineering degree required. P. E. stamp preferred.
Experience with mechanical design, preferably with engine powered products.
Travel will be required to meet with customers, dealers, industry groups and to be present at assigned project start up and testing.
Must be proficient with computer skills, verbal and written communication.
Must be able to gain clearance to governmental, military, and privately secured facilities.
