YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Military Readiness and Well-Being:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for mobilization/demobilization (MOB/DEMOB), ensuring SMs are medically prepared for deployment.
Utilize Health Risk Appraisal tools and established Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) to streamline health assessments.
Keep patient wait times to a minimum, managing an average of four (4) to six (6) patients per hour for routine assessments; two (2) to four (4) patients an hour for more in depth assessments.
Deliver High-Quality Patient Care:
Deliver comprehensive medical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for SMs while adhering to clinical standards and regulations.
Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests, ensuring timely follow-up on abnormal results.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure SMs receive appropriate referrals and care.
Manage Cases and Ensure Documentation:
Document all patient encounters in MHS Genesis within twenty-four (24) hours, maintaining complete and accurate records according to MTF and DoD policies.
Participate in care conferences and peer reviews to contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Record hours worked in the Defense Medical Human Resources System-internet (DMHRSi) as required.
Be a First Responder in Crisis Situations:
Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including cardiopulmonary arrests.
Work closely with the medical commander and leadership to identify and address patient care challenges proactively.
Utilize Telehealth Technologies:
Leverage telehealth tools for remote health assessments, consultations, and education, ensuring continuous care regardless of location.
Integrate innovative telemedicine solutions for follow-ups and patient management.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Education:
Master or Doctoral level degree in nursing from an accredited academic program recognized by ACEN or CCNE.
Must be a United States citizen.
Experience:
At least one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years in primary care medicine (e.g., family practice, general medicine, internal medicine).
Experience in a high-demand clinical environment, demonstrating flexibility, critical thinking, and effective teamwork.
Licensure & Certifications:
Current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in an U.S. jurisdiction.
Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANP.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage a high caseload in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with command personnel, healthcare teams, and SMs.
Proficient in telehealth technologies and virtual care platforms.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Location:
Work will primarily be performed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and affiliated facilities within a forty (40) mile radius with potential assignments based on operational needs.
Schedule:
Hours may vary based on mission requirements, including surge support during mobilizations and demobilizations. Flexibility is required to meet mission demands.
Telehealth:
May be required to provide remote services during public health emergencies or other contingencies.
Supervision:
Work under the supervision of a licensed physician, collaborating with nurse practitioners and other medical staff.
