Job Description:

Founded more than 50 years ago, Pennoni is a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm that specializes in Quality Assurance Fabrication Inspection. Our Construction Materials Engineering and Testing group, together with the other disciplines, form a team of experts who provide inspection, materials consulting, and testing services for buildings, bridges, highways, and other infrastructure facilities. Our Nationally recognized Structural Materials Inspection team includes renowned experts in welding and fabrication who provide quality assurance inspection services around the globe.


Pennoni is currently seeking full-time and part-time Quality Assurance Inspectors, for off-site fabrication shops located in Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Western New York and West Virginia producing bridge and highway products for transportation agencies.


Required experience is consistent with, but not limited to:

• Inspection of welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, sign structures, bridge beams, drainage structures, and other materials
• Monitoring work for compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications
• Communicating and meeting with fabricators, clients, and engineers
• Production of daily written shop reports

Required Attributes

• Minimum Education: High School
• Minimum years of experience: 4-7
• Experience performing QA/QC of bridge fabrication
• 
  AWS Certified Welding Inspector with D1.1 and D1.5 experience
  
• Computer Skills: Microsoft windows and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work well independently and with others
• Need reliable transportation

Preferred Attributes

• Experience performing QA/QC of bridge fabrication.
• Non-Destructive Testing [NDT] certifications (e.g.: UT, MT, PT).
• Experience performing QA/QC of bridge and highway structures fabrication.
• AWS D1.1/D1.5 Experience.
• Coating Inspection experience
