General Summary
The Plant Foreman is responsible for coordinating aggregate production to meet internal and external customer demand, ordering parts and supplies, daily safety and production reporting and managing repair and maintenance. This project participates in On-The-Job training program.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Coordinates tasks according to priorities and plans.
Allocates general and daily responsibilities.
Supervises, coordinates, and monitors plant activities to include the maintenance of equipment.
Supports and assists personnel in achieving timely and efficient production schedules.
Ensures manpower and resources are adequate.
Ensures conformance with policies and procedures, safety regulations, and local, State and Federal laws and regulations.
Ensures proper documentation of operations activities in logs and/or incident reports.
Proactively manages equipment, personnel, and other operational costs.
Teach and develop craft employees to promote understanding of safety and aggregate processing.
Other duties as required.
Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Work Experience
5+ years of experience in aggregate operations with understanding of mineral processing equipment such as crushers, screen, conveyors, and mobile equipment.
Prior experience functioning as a Foreman/Supervisor and or Lead level, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of preventative maintenance that must be performed to minimize unplanned downtime.
Knowledge and understanding of aggregate washing systems.
Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to operate computer tasks and email.
Ability to troubleshoot plant operational issues.
Ability to communicate clearly and problem solve.
Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
Ability to learn Granite's timekeeping and reporting systems.
Ability and willingness to abide by Granite's Code of Conduct daily.
Ability to understand and comply with OSHA rules and regulations.
Ability to react and quickly adapt in a fast-paced the plant environment.
Ability to communicate bilingually in English and Spanish is a plus!
Physical Demands
Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours).
Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions.
Ability to work in safety sensitive construction zones around large machinery and heavy equipment.
