Summary:
Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
Assists nurse with patient care. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
Demonstrates flexibility and competency to provide patient care throughout the South Broward Hospital District to a variety of patient populations. Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
Assists in decontamination, preparation and sterilization of instruments in sterile processing.
