Join our Developmental Services program as a Registered Nurse Supervisor, coordinating care and services in a group home setting, ensuring the health and well-being of the individuals served at Behavioral Health Network.




GENERAL SUMMARY


The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of all nursing functions and supervision of nurses in DDS programs, ensures high quality, and excellent care to individuals served in DDS homes. The Nurse Supervisor is also responsible for oversight and implementation of the Medication Administration Program (MAP).



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides oversight and direct supervision to nurses in managing all aspects of existing or new emerging health issues.

  • Provides direct supervision to DDS nurses, addresses disciplinary issues as needed, and completes annual performance evaluations.

  • Serves as nursing main point of contact for DDS communications regarding policies, procedures, and high-level health care inquiries

  • Assures nursing team effectively communicates with DDS Area Offices in conjunction with the program team.

  • Develops and implements trainings and training protocols for DDS staff, individuals served, and family members.

  • Monitors funder and state guidance and program specifications, adjusts protocols, policies, and procedures related to changes and communicates changes to programs.

  • Acts as a resource to programs individuals and families regarding medical best practice.

  • Monitors completion of clinical assessments and progress notes; ensures they are in accordance with the organization's policies.

  • Conducts regular Health Care Management meetings with nursing staff and division leaders.

  • Directly performs or arranges for nurses to get needed training on medical procedures and any other program medical needs.

  • Reviews all intakes and assures accuracy and approval of recommendations by nurses.

  • Performs MAP transcription classes, MAP administration training, develops and trains staff in supplementary MAP training materials as needed.

  • Assures compliance of MAP systems and accuracy of MAP Protocols through audits and regular monitoring.

  • Ensures programs meet all licensing and certification requirements of funding source for health care management and medication administration Provides nursing on-call coverage as part of regular rotation.

  • Completes Quality reviews of nursing documentation and functions within all programs.





OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Participates on organization committees as assigned.

  • Monitors the accuracy of all supervisees' time sheets on a weekly basis, and mileage and reimbursement requests.

  • Performs other tasks as requested by Vice President





PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES


  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse required.

  • Five years' experience in the human services field, with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience required.

  • Must maintain current licensure and certifications.

  • Must be well organized with good interpersonal skills.

  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle available for all working hours required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
