Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and building fully operational.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform needed maintenance on equipment and direct support of production operating needs
Evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur, or improvements are needed
Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, steam boiler, thermal oil heaters, air compressors, security system & fire protection system
Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders. Capture and communicate associated data
Maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls and pumps
Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting
Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools and other metal working equipment
Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment
Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, & departmental policies, procedures, & standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS)
As directed execute projects on an as needed basis
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret industrial documents and electrical drawings
Industrial mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to repair/rebuild industrial machinery such as motors, compressors, pumps, gear boxes, hydraulics
Demonstrated ability to utilize hand tools (shop tools)
Ability to fabricate/weld
Awareness of PLCs, low and high electrical voltage, and 24 VDC - 480 VAC
Inter-Personnel Skills - Including the ability to be a team player. The ability to pass on information & training to others.
Understanding of OSHA and industrial safety protocols
Safety certifications
Ability to operate mobile equipment safely
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, technical school preferred
Experience working as a technician in an industrial manufacturing environment
Technical military specialties considered
