Job Summary

Jackson State Community College is launching new collegiate cross country/half-marathon men and women programs that will compete in the NJCAA.

Job Duties

• 90% - Responsible for planning and coaching student-athletes, identifying, selecting and recruiting student athletes. Complete and report in a timely fashion, all department college and conference administrative information. Manage team budget. Hires and supervises assistant coaches. Monitor academic needs and eligibility. Assist with scheduling, meet management, equipment purchasing and travel arrangements. - (Essential)


• 10% - Performs other duties as assigned. - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and prior related coaching experience, are required. Candidates must have knowledge of NJCAA and TCCAA rules in relation to cross country, and good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications

A master's degree from an accredited college/university and prior related coaching experience, are preferred. Candidates must have knowledge of NJCAA and TCCAA rules in relation to Cross Country, and good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Jackson State Community College, the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association and the NJCAA.

Pay Rate: $43,888-$51,120 Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
